Condition
There are some crushed bone flakes at the back. Age cracks on the piece. Some of the objects have shaken loose. Flower has fallen from the roof. Overall, good condition.

Catalogue Note
Conrad Grasshoff (1848-1927) was born in Buffalo, New York and served in the Civil War with the 24th New York Cavalry Regiment. Shortly after the war, he married and moved to Altamont, Illinois, where he was employed by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. Mr. Grasshoff began carving with the shinbones of cows in the 1870s as a hobby, and continued developing his creations for forty years.
