Executed on lined notepad paper. There are some slight old paper losses at two of the corners (visible in the catalogue illustration). The sheet has been enlarged by the addition of bands of paper along all four edges. These are the remains of an old framing process. Kraft paper has been added to these bands. The sheet is affixed to the overmount at the upper edge by one of these kraft bands. There is a repaired hairline tear (approx. 9 cm long) running horizontally through the composition above the figure's leg. There is another horizontal repaired hairline tear (approx. 1 cm long) along the figure's thigh. There are some slight vertical creases in the lower part of the composition (visible in the catalogue illustration) and a few additional slight creases in areas. There is a small pinhole towards the centre of lower edge and a few scattered specks of foxing.
