Condition
The canvas is not lined. The canvas is slightly undulating and could benefit from a re-stretching. There is a thick varnish and some fine lines of craquelure throughout the composition. There is a small surface scratch towards the lower left corner and a pinhole to the upper left corner. There is some frame rubbing to the extreme edges with associated small paint losses and lines of retouching under UV light. UV light reveals also three small areas of retouching to the centre of the right edge (the larger of which is approx. 5 cm long), visible to the naked eye. There are two smaller areas of retouching to the centre of the left edge and below the figure's foots. Otherwise this work is in good condition.
