of rectangular form, the hinged lid enameled transparent oyster over a moiré guilloché ground within border of transparent green enamel, the borders chased with a foliate band against a stippled ground, the sides and base with conforming decoration, with a diamond-set thumbpiece, 56 standard

underside with one inherent flaw in the engine-turning, the gold chased band possibly unfinished (it appears similar to decorative bands on which the leaves were enameled and the recessed ovals were set with half-pearls or enameled in red or white), otherwise good condition and very good weight
