enameled translucent lemon over engine-turned ground, painted with forget-me-nots and gold paillons, fabric-covered back and strut
Provenance
According to the accompanying copy of a letter from Hammer Galleries, the picture was taken in the garden of Peterhof in 1912 and the piece comes from the personal quarters of Empress Alexandra at the Alexander Palace, Tsarskoe Selo; signed Joy Nevius, June 8th, 1935.
