the foot engraved with arms in foliate surround, the base rim with presentation inscription, with removable liner and crested collar, all on gilt-metal pedestal engraved with matching arms and applied with ribbon-tied oak wreathes

Catalogue Note
The presentation inscription reads "Presented by the Officers OF THE 7TH (QUEENS OWN) HUSSARS. Co. Coll. Edward Kerrison IN TOKEN OF THE RESPECT excited by his Conduct AT THE BATTLE OF ORTHES, 27th Feb.y 1814, & as a mark of the Regard & Esteem they feel towards him. August 1814."
Edward Kerrison, K.C.B., K.C.H., born Suffolk in 1776, Lieut. Colonel in 7th Light Dragoons 1804, served in the Peninsula 1808-09, wounded in the Cꦫorunna Retreat, commanded 7th Hussars in Peninsula 1813-14 and at Waterloo. Major General 1819, baronet 1821, Lieut. Gen. 1837, and General 1851. MP 1824-52, and died in 1853.
