Description

  • Porcelain, metal fitting
  • 46cm., 18in. high
painted in the manner of George Davis with exotic birds in panels on a green 'cracked ice' ground and with a band of flowers, converted to a lamp base

Condition

Please note that the vase has been fitted as a lamp and has not been examined beneath the mounts. There is some overall minor and occasional wear to the gilding. There is some minor firing-related speckling overall. The vase has a few approximate 1-inch chips to the upper rim edge, which have been gilt over. The tips of several upturned acanthus leaves on the lower body have either been chipped away and gilt over or restored. The base of the vase is oversprayed, making it difficult to determine the exact nature of the damage.
