Description

Designed as a beetle, with tigers eye body accented with half-pearls, the legs decorated with rose diamonds, detachable brooch pin.

A gift from Andrew, 11th Duke of Devonshire (1920-2004) to Deborah, Duchess of Devonshire (1920-2014)

Bakewell, Derbyshire, Chatsworth, Dowager Duchess of Devonshire, 90th Birthday Exhibition, March-October 2010.

Condition

Mounted in gold and silver. Diamonds bright and lively. Rubies reddish purple, transparent. Seed pearls, cream body colour, medium lustre. Secure clasp. Scratches to stones and metal consistent with wear. Metal tarnished. In good condition.
