The rectangular case with an engraved radiating design to the exterior applied with a rose diamond motif set with three inverted sapphires, opening to reveal six compartments, a tortoiseshell comb and mirror, measuring approximately 150 x 120 x 20mm, signed Van Cleef & Arpels, Styptor, maker's marks, later case stamped Van Cleef & Arpels.
Condition
Stamped STYPTOR. Signed Van Cleef & Arpels. Maker's mark Double Or VCA. Sapphires mid blue, transparent, with typical inclusions visible to the naked eye. Diamonds bright and lively, estimated total diamond weight approximately 0.30 - 0.60 carats. Secure hinges and clasps to exterior lid and lids to interior departments. Powder compartment with powder press to interior of lid. Tortoiseshell comb intact, in good condition. Mirror with broken edge to upper left, and areas of discolouration. Scratches to surfaces consistent with wear. In good condition. Later case stamped Van Cleef & Arpels.
