Huguette Marcelle Clark, June 9th 1906 – May 24th 2011, was an American heiress and philanthropist, who became well known later in life as a recluse, living in a hospital for more than 20 years while her mansions remained empty. The youngest daughter of United States Senator and industrialist William A. Clark, upon her death at 104 in 2011, she left behind a fortune of more than $300 million. Her life was featured in the bestselling book Empty Mansions: The Mysterious Life of Huguette Clark and the Spending of a Great American Fortune.

Inscribed Cartier. Numbered 5540. Emeralds of medium green, transparent, typical inclusions visible to the naked eye, some surface reaching fissures, light abrasions to facets and facet edges consistent with wear. One link slightly bent, to be repaired after the sale at Sotheby's expense. Estimated total diamond weight approximately 15.00-20.00 carats, estimated colour H-J, estimated clarity VS on average, some stones SI. Secure clasp. Scratches to metal consistent with wear. In good condition.
