Description

The rectangular case decorated with a geometric motif accented with calibré-cut sapphires, containing a mirror, one compact, a pill box and a vesta case, signed Mauboussin and numbered, maker's marks, measuring approximately 170mm x 104mm x 19mm, with fitted carrying case, lipstick and comb deficient.
Condition
Case and compact stamped METAL. Case signed Mauboussin Paris No. 90. Compact, Vesta case and pill box with maker's marks H&7M, stamped Double Or Laminé for gold plate. Case with indistinct maker's mark. Sapphires deep blue in colour, transparent, with typical inclusions visible under magnification, three sapphires chipped, light scratches to stone surfaces consistent with wear. Areas of solder visible to underside of hinged glass lid to inner compartment. All hinges intact, and all clasps secure. Mirrors intact, with some small areas of discolouration to edges. Scratches and areas of discolouration to metal surfaces consistent with use. Lipstick and comb deficient. Black fitted textile carrying case. In good condition. Gross weight (not including fitted textile carrying case) approximately 706 grams.
