Designed as intertwining flowers, the two flowerheads centered by old mine-cut diamonds, one flowerhead suspending a pear-shaped diamond drop, the flower petals set with numerous cushion-cut and oval-shaped rubies, accented by old mine-cut, old European and rose-cut diamonds, the stems set with three ruby cabochons, the leaves applied with green enamel; circa 1870.

In good condition. The larger round diamonds are approximately 3.60 and 4.25 carats, the pear-shaped diamond is approximately 2.25 carats; J-K color, SI clarity. The rubies are a deep purplish red color and are slightly to moderately included, the cabochon rubies being more heavily included. The enamelling is intact. Smaller diamonds weigh approximately 2.60 carats; decorative quality, many with a light brown tint. Length of brooch approximately 3 2/3 inches.
