- A FINE SILVER AND ENAMEL QUARTER REPEATING RECTANGULAR DESK TIMEPIECE WITH 8-DAY POWER RESERVECIRCA 1910
- Gold, agate and enamel
- dimensions 70 (without pusher) x 55 mm
• gilt brass Swiss movement, platform escapement, cut bi-metallic balance with gold peripheral timing screws and blued Breguet balance spring with terminal curve, two polished hammers repeating on two gongs • white enamel dial Breguet numerals, open-work hands, outer minute track in gold • rectangular case with translucent purple guilloché enamel and opaque white enamel borders, bezel heightened by white enamel beads in green enamel surround, surmounted upon four ball feet, repeating via cabochon pusher on the top • movement signed Nocturne, case and dial signed Cartier, numbered 1796 on the movement and the base and 1727 on the case
Condition
Movement running at time of cataloguing, but chiming is not in phase, and need service at the buyer's discretion. Case in good condition with light surface scratches and wear consistent with age. Enamel with no signs of restoration, some discolouration to the top. Front right foot with restoration and reattached, the surrounding area on the bottom of the clock with scratches. Dial in good condition with hairline at 1. Movement with patina and scratches.
