The present Vacheron Constantin silver chronometer watch was previously owned by the famous South American millionaire and socialite Alfredo Cernadas. Cernadas gained infamy in 1969 when, several months after entering into divorce proceedings with his wife, killed her in their Manhattan apartment. The watch bears an enameled monogram AC and an accompanying monogrammed fob for Cernadas. Additionally, the watch was purchased from the retailer L & E Fabre in Buenos Aires, Cernadas' home city.
