Condition
The movement is running at time of cataloguing, however it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement. Case in overall excellent condition and recently serviced by Patek Philippe as indicated by the service sticker attached to the case back. A minute dent at the left side case band at 6. Dial and movement in excellent condition.

The Ref. 130 is an iconic vintage Patek Philippe chronograph. Its case design was based on the classic Calatrava, Ref. 96, and it was the first chronograph wristwatch by the firm to bear a reference number.

Production began in 1934, and due to its classic shape and timeless appeal, it was made for three decades. Whiꦐle tastes shifted dramatically over that period, the desire for an elegant, understated wrist𒁃watch - combined with the utilitarian complication of a chronograph - withstood the test of time then as it does today.
