Condition

Attractive dark brown patina. There is some handling wear to the bronze, including some fine scratches predominantly to the base, and there are some small areas of rubbing to the patina in places. There is some dust in the crevices consistent with age and handling. This work is in good overall condition.

Catalogue Note

"It's enough that a beautiful thing, a strong thing, exists. It has its role, its weight. It extends its influence even if people can't discern its qualities. Even if nobody looks at it, it still has its effect.
I don't believe that art is made for the people. Art is made, period, and that is enough."

Henri Laurens, 26th June 1951
