Condition
Attractive deep brown patina with green tones. There is a small area of verdigris between the male figure's legs. There is some scattered wear to the patina in places and an area of abrasion to the man's proper left hand and wrist. There are a few fine joint lines visible, which are inherent to the artist's process. There is dust in the crevices and some general handling wear to the surface in keeping with age. This work is in overall good condition.

Catalogue Note
‘No one could make bodies ‘speak’ better than Rodin… At the peak of his powers, aided by the youth and openness of the models who posed for him, he conveyed his own euphoria in [Eternal Springtime] with a very skilful composition, built on an X, whose elegant forms, enhanced by the languidness of the bodies and the delicacy of the embrace, made it one of his most highly acclaimed works’
