Condition

Oil on board laid down on cradled panel. The board is stable and the panel is sound. UV examination reveals a few strokes of retouching to the background, most notably along the upper edge, in line with the leftmost flower, at the centre of the left and right edges and two spots towards the lower right corner. Some pigments fluoresce under UV light, notably in the flowers and the body of the vase. There are some very minor nicks with associated small spots of paint loss to the perimeter of the board, most notably along the upper edge and in the corners, not visible when framed and probably due to laying down process. There is some stable hair line craquelure to the thickest areas of white pigment of the statuette. There is a thin 1cm. long, stable line of craquelure below the stauette's hands, which appears to be lifting slightly. This work is in overall good condition.
