Condition

The canvas is not lined and there do not appear to be any signs of retouching visible under UV light. There is some paper residue to the top left corner due to previous mounting. There is some discolouration along the left part of the upper edge which fluoresces under UV examination, and which pertains to dirt and old frame rubbing. There are some lines of paint shrinkage, predominantly to the right part of the composition, and some fine stable lines of craquelure in places to the more thickly applied pigments. The impasto is well preserved and this work is in overall good condition.
