Description
- Ruby, diamond, platinum, gold
Each suspending an oval ruby weighing 5.01 and 4.98 carat respectively, to the two-tiered surround and surmount set with circular-cut diamonds, mounted in platinum and 18 karat yellow gold.
Condition
Colour and Clarity: According to two GRS reports, both the rubies are natural, of Burmese (Mogok, Myanmar) origin, with no indication of thermal treatment, and are vivid red colour (GRS type "pigeon's blood"). Please refer to the reports for details. In our opinion, the rubies are of medium-strong tone saturated red colour, well-matched in size and shape. Under the 10x loupe inspection, there are moderate typical crystal, silk and fingerprint inclusions with some surface reaching, and minor pits and chips but hardly noticeable to the naked eye. One ruby with cavities at the girdle and pavilion, and the other with cavities at the pavilion, but all are not noticeable when worn. The diamonds together weighing approximately 1.00 carat, are about H to I colour, mainly VS clarity (with a few SI clarity).
Condition: Platinum and karat yellow gold mount, overall in mint condition.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please note that jadeite and rubies of Burmese origin and articles of jewellery containing jadeite or rubies of Burmese origin all less than 100 years old may not be imported into the US. The purchaser's inability to import any item into the U.S. or any other country as a result of these or other restrictions shall not justify cancellation or rescission of the sale or any delay in payment. Please check with the specialist department if you are uncertain as to whether a lot is subject to these import restrictions, or any other restrictions on importation or exportation.
