Composed of a line of gold plaques set with brilliant-cut diamonds, alternating with oval and cushion-shaped rubies, supporting a pendant set with a pear-shaped diamond weighing 21.04 carats, one detachable link, length approximately 700mm, shortest length approximately 630mm, signed M. Gérard, numbered, French assay and maker's marks.
Condition
Rubies of Burmese origin cannot be imported into the US; this piece may contain a ruby of Burmese origin and therefore may not be able to be imported into the US. Certification of non-Burmese origin is required before the import of rubies into the US. Please see our Important Notices and contact the jewellery department for further information.
In our experts' opinion, the rubies are of Thai origin and are probably heated.
Accompanied by GIA report no. 1176177640, stating that the pear-shaped diamond weighing 21.04 carats and measuring 32.08 x 13.49 x 7.86mm, is D Colour, VVS1 Clarity.
Signed M. Gérard, numbered C.S. 1325 on the clasps of the necklace and the additional link. French maker's mark for Vassort, 34 rue Saint-Etienne, 75001 Paris. French assay mark and stamped 750 for 18 carat gold. For further details on the pear-shaped diamond, please refer to the GIA report. Remaining diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 4.00 - 5.00 carats, on average G colour, VVS-VS clarity, as gauged and graded in the mount. Rubies well-matched in colour, calculated to weigh a total of approximately 32.00 - 35.00 carats, purplish-red of medium strong saturation, with typical inclusions, a few chips and nicks. Signs of normal wear to the metal, clasp secure, safety catch. In very good condition. Gross weight approximately 100 grams.
