Description
- platinum, emerald, onyx, sapphire, diamodn
The buckle-shaped motif, set with a hexagonal-shaped carved emerald measuring approximately 17.3 by 29.8 by 9.4 mm, accented by baguette, bullet and single-cut, diamonds weighing approximately 8.00 carats, further set with onyx, accented at the top with one cabochon sapphire, suspending one emerald drop measuring approximately 30.0 by 22.0 by 22.0 mm, two diamonds missing; circa 1925.
Condition
In overall good condition. The carved emerald is loose in its mounting, and there are some areas of tarnish and wear to the platinum, commensurate with age. The carved emerald and emerald drop both exhibit a medium slightly bluish green to bluish green color and are heavily included yet still maintain their translucency, the carved emerald displaying a higher translucency than the emerald drop. The carved emerald has some surface-reaching inclusions and brown inclusions that are visible, and the emerald drop displays larger patches of brown inclusions as well as pitting and cracks that are surface-reaching as well. A few areas of loss and damage to the onyx but otherwise intact. The diamonds are approximately H-J color, VS-SI clarity. The cabochon sapphire is a nicely saturated medium-deep slightly violetish blue and slightly included. Two small diamonds missing.
