Condition
The sheet is affixed with several tabs to a backing card. The sheet undulates slightly, but otherwise appears sound. The edges of the sheet are slightly uneven in places, thought to be inkeeping with the artist's technique, and there are some instances of minor rubbing and one or two small creases around the extreme edges. There is a potential old repaired tear in the upper left corner. Some of the edges of the collaged elements lift very slightly in places, but otherwise they all appear sound and securely attached. There is a small pinhole just above centre of lower horizontal edge and another one towards the left side of the upper horizontal edge, both of which appear to be in keeping with the artist's technique. There are some fine lines of craquelure to some of the thicker pigment in places, with one or two very small resultant losses. There is some light surface dirt, studio detritus and discolouration in places. There are some very small spots of foxing, only visible upon close inspection. There is some cracking to the glue which has been used to adhere the netting element. The work is window mounted and presented in a painted wooden frame, held under glass. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
