Condition
Original canvas.
There are traces of reticultation to the dark maroon pigment, visible upon close inspection and some slight instances of craquelure to the pink pigment in the centre of the right hand side of the composition. This excepting the work appears in very good overall condition.
Ultraviolet light reveals a small area of fluorescence and retouching in the bottom right hand quadrant, which corresponds to a small tear visible to the reverse of the canvas. This has been very sensitively restored.
Housed in a thick gilt and painted frame.
