Condition
Original canvas. There are areas of paint separation to the dark brown pigment of the trees, notably in the upper right quadrant and to an area above the centre of the bottom edge where there is also a minor spot of paint loss. There is a small area of discoloured varnish in the sky otherwise in original condition.
Ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching.
The work is presented in an ornate gilt frame, held under glass.
