- 33 by 42cm.; 13 by 16½in.
Provenance
Sale, Christie's South Kensington, 14th October 2004, lot 107, where acquired by the present owner
Condition
The work is attached to the over mount with masking tape on all four sides, and this tape reinforces an older masking tape that attached the work just at the corners. The tape exhibits foxing, and there are isolated spots of foxing on the sheet, some visible recto at the bottom edge. The sheet shows skinning (verso), visible top left (recto) from previous mounting. There is a small tear, to the top right corner, probably caused by an equivalent previous mounting. There is a hard, diagonal crease to the top right corner, with associated soft handling creases. There may be staining to the extreme edges of the sheet due to the present over mount but these are not visible without detaching the sheet.
The work is window mounted and housed in a painted wooden frame, held under glass.
