Condition
Not viewed out of the frame.
The work appears to be adhered to the mount in several places along the edges. The work consists of at least two sheets which have been adhered together. The sheets undulate slightly but otherwise appear sound. The work has been cut slightly unevenly at the left vertical edge. There are pinholes apparent to the edges of the work, which are thought to be in keeping with the artist's working method. There are some creases, tears, losses and wear to the sheets, all of which are in keeping with the artist's working method. There appears to be a further repaired tear near the upper left corner. There is some very light discolouration apparent towards the edges of the work. There may be one or two tiny spots of foxing, only visible upon extremely close inspection. There is some studio detritus and light surface dirt in places. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in excellent overall condition, with fresh and rich passages of charcoal and pastel.
The work is float mounted and presented in a simple painted and metallic wooden frame. The reverse of the sheet is also visible, and is window mounted. The work is held under glass on both sides.
