Exhibited
London, Crane Kalman Gallery, Graham Sutherland O.M. (1903-1980): A Retrospective, 22nd April - 5th June 1999, cat. no.30, illustrated.
Condition
Not examined out of the frame. The sheet appears to be affixed in several places to the backing card, but does not appear to be laid down. The sheet is slightly cockled. There is a vertical crease in the centre running the height of the sheet, but otherwise it appears sound. The edges of the sheet are slightly unevenly cut, thought to be in keeping with the artist's materials. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in excellent overall condition, with fresh and vivid colours throughout.
The work is float mounted and presented in a painted wooden frame, held under glass.
Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
