Condition

The board has been laid down onto a support panel. The edges of the panel are slightly uneven, including rounding in all four corners and an area of slight possible compression in the top left corner. There is an area of infilling to the extreme bottom left corner, owing to an old frame abrasion. There is a small area of craquelure to the dark green paint in the upper left quadrant and one small fleck of loss to the light green pigment at the centre of the composition. There is light surface dirt to the piece. Subject to the above the work is in overall very good condition. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a few small specks of fluorescence, possibly re-touching, to the bottom half of the composition, with some further minor areas visible elsewhere. The work is held within a gilt wood frame. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
