Condition
Not examined out of the frame. The board is affixed to a backing board. The left vertical edge of the board is slightly unevenly cut, which is thought to be in keeping with the artist's materials. The edges of the board are slightly scuffed and rounded in places, most apparent to the lower right corner. There is a small loss to the red pigment near the centre of the lower horizontal edge. There are one or two spots of light surface dirt. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in excellent overall condition, with a fresh impasto surface and vivid colours throughout.
Ultraviolet light reveals some areas of fluorescence, most of which are thought to be by the hand of the artist, but one or two may be possible spots of re-touching.
The board is float mounted and presented in a gilt wooden frame, held under glass.
