London, Whitechapel Art Gallery, David Bomberg: The Later Years, 21st September - 28th October 1979, cat. no.32.
Condition
The work is attached to a backing card with three tabs along the upper horizontal edge. The sheet undulates slightly. There are pinholes apparent in each of the upper corners, most likely in keeping with the artist's working method, with an associated tear in the upper right corner, not visible when the work is framed. There is a vertical crease running the length of the sheet in the centre, which appears in keeping with the artist's materials and there are some creases apparent in the upper right quadrant, with some further light creases and handling marks apparent elsewhere, including a vertical crease at the lower left vertical edge. There is some discolouration around the edges of the sheet. There are a few specks of white matter to the work which appear to be studio detritus. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in very good overall condition.
The work is window mounted and presented in a painted wooden frame, held under glass.
