Condition

The canvas is relined, the paint surface is stable, the varnish is even if somewhat discoloured. There is a small surface scratch to the top of the arch at the center left, but otherwise no major damages are visible to the naked eye. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals scattered strengthenings to the architectural components of the picture, but very little intervention within the figures. In good overall condition and offered in an elaborately carved and giltwood frame in good condition.
