Condition
The panel is uncradled, flat and stable. The paint surface is relatively clean and the varnish is somewhat discoloured. There is some evidence of minor wear throughout the painting where the ground has become slightly more visible. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals scattered retouching throughout the painting, most notably in the sky, in the chimney, left, and in the pale ground. A couple of figures in the central foreground also have small areas of retouching. In overall good condition.
