Condition
The following condition report is provided by Hamish Dewar who is an external specialist and not an employee of Sotheby's: The two panels are cradled and are in stable condition. The varnish layers are even. There is a small loss to the lower right vertical edge of the wooden support of the painting with the figure holding the vessel. There is an overall pattern of craquelure in both paintings which is stable. Inspection under ultra-violet light shows very small retouchings mainly in the background of the two paintings. Overall the paintings are in very good condition.
