The following condition report is provided by Hamish Dewar who is an external specialist and not an employee of Sotheby's: The pair of panels are cradled. Both panels have unstable areas of lifting paint throughout the composition and glossy varnish layers. Both paintings have extensive retouchings throughout the composition which are visible in natural light. Inspection under ultra-violet light shows a discoloured varnish layer and retouchings mentioned above. Overall the paintings are in fair condition. The works are framed.
