The panel is uncradled, flat and stable. The paint surface is relatively clean and the varnish is clear and even. There are retouchings to two small losses, centre right and left of the figures, and in the face of the figure fending off the wolf. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals these, some small, minor retouchings in the sky, in the tree trunk, centre right, and in the foreground in a horizontal line beneath the figure's left foot, measuring approx. 4 cm. across. In overall good condition.
