The panel has been marouflaged onto a thicker piece of wood and both panels are flat and stable. There are two shallow surface cracks, running vertically down from the centre of the upper margin and through the neck of the unicorn, each measuring approx. 6 cm. There are very small scattered areas of discoloured retouching around the figure with the tambourine, and along the upper margin. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a varnish which fluoresces opaquely, but through which it is possible to discern very small spot retouchings in the figures reclining, lower left, and in the central group of figures. In overall good condition.
