Condition
The following condition report is provided by Hamish Dewar who is an external specialist and not an employee of Sotheby's: The canvas appears to be unlined. The paint surface is relatively even. Inspection under ultra-violet light shows a very opaque and discoloured varnish layer and small, scattered lines of retouchings mostly in the trees and in the foreground. Overall the painting is in good condition. The work is framed.
