Description
- Johann Baptist Drechsler
- Still life of flowers in an urn on a marble ledge
- signed and dated lower right: Joh. Drechsler .f. / 1810.
- oil on canvas
- 67 x 45 cm
Provenance
In the collection of the present owner's family probably since at least the 1960s.
Condition
The canvas is lined, and the paint surface is relatively clean. The varnish appears to have dulled and apparently sunk into the network of craquelure, which is consequently rendered more visible in raking light. The varnish fluoresces opaquely under ultraviolet light, so only a handful of minor retouchings are visible, but the painting appears to be in overall very good condition.
