Condition
Illustration is fine. Overall condition is good. Please note that the model was previously a pair of candelabra. The branches have been removed and replaced by a stone cup. It can be used as a large single candleholder. Expected wear. Good quality of the patinated figures.

Une paire de candélabres composée des mêmes figures s'est vendue chez Sotheby's à Londres, le 24 juin 1988, lot 16. Une autre paire est illustrée dans un article de Jean-Dominique Augarde qui attribue ce modèle à Claude Galle (cf. "Bronze et bronziers sous le Directoire et l'Empire" in L'Estampille/L'Objet d'art n°398, janvier 2005, p. 72, fig. 14).
