Catalogue Note
A fine later example of one of the most desirable concert posters, featuring the iconic Mouse and Kelley design.
The central image is after a 1913 woodcut by the nineteenth-century artist Edmund Sullivan illustrating the 26th quatrain of The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam. San Francisco psychedelic poster artists Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley adapted the image, and incorporated it into their colorful poster🃏 in advertising the band's 1966 show at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco with Oxford Circle.
