Catalogue Note
Dating from the Dead's highly lucrative 1992 summer tour, the stint at Soldier Field with the Steve Miller Band came only a few weeks before Jerry Garcia's second collapse on August 4th. At the time, band spokesman Dennis McNally stated that Garcia was suffering "an illness brought on by exhaustion," which eventually forced the band to cancel the 18-city East Coast tour that had been planned for that fall. Drummer Mickey Hart told news outlets at the time, "I'm not hysterical and I don't know anybody who is hysterical... He's been better, but he's been worse."
