Measurements: 83cm across the top, 82cm across the bottom (84cm at widest in lower section), 150cm along left side, 151cm along right side Soft lustrous wool with flexible handle. Generally even 4-5mm pile overall with some oxidisation to dark browns typical of age, and spot areas of lower pile within hexagonal motifs to the mushroom colour ground in the field as visible from the photograph. Some minor re-piling to brown oxidised trellis design and commensurate loose thread to lower right corner. Both ends backed with strips of herringbone tape for support. Fringing at both ends and some minor re-piling and other areas of wear to the outer brown guards. The lower brown outer guard is rewoven, to a depth of approx 2cm. Original sidecords with wear to pile as visible from the photograph. A good example of a Ninghsia rug.
