Generally even 5mm pile, with some areas down to knot heads, eg top left corner of main field and along central vertical orientation along lower half. Minor oxidisation affecting mushroom ground of main field and evident lower pile in the outer guards, visible from the photograph. The reverse of all four edges have strips of cotton banding attached for support. The outer guards of all sides have been covered with a brown cotton strip, again visible from image.
