gelatin silver print, mounted, signed in ink on the mount, framed, 1937, printed later

Condition

As is visible in the catalogue illustration, there is some uneven age-darkening and discoloration, possibly foxing, in the upper half of the image. Upon close inspection, the following are visible in raking light: a few small matte deposits, possibly retouching, in the upper right quadrant and tiny indentations and faint scratches intermittently scattered throughout the image. The print is trimmed to the image and the edges are chipping. The ink signature on the mount is faded. There is some slight age-darkening on all sides of the mount. On the reverse, there are dried adhesive remnants along the top, right, and left edges. Discoloration, likely from a cardboard frame backing, is noticeable in the lower half of the reverse.
