- gelatin silver print
gelatin silver print, signed, titled, and dated in ink in the margin, stamped on the reverse, framed, 1963, printed in 2013
Condition
This print, on semi-glossy double-weight paper, is in generally good to very good condition. A narrow, one inch area appears glossier than the rest of the image in the upper left quadrant. There are handling creases across the image, none of which appears to break the emulsion. Upon close examination in raking light, a faint thin impression running the width of the image is visible in the upper portion of the print. Faint illegible impressions are also visible in the upper margin. None of the above appear to break the emulsion or detracts in any meaningful way from the overall appearance of the print. In the upper margin, there is a small tear that does not extend into the image, a small scratch with associated emulsion loss, and a fibrous adhesion. There is soiling in the margins.
The 'Tirage par Philippe Salaün' stamp on the reverse is annotated 'Philippe Salaün' and 'MS 25-3' in an unidentified hand in pencil. There are crossed out notations in blue ink and areas of soiling on the reverse.
