Condition
Overall in very good condition. The wood presents with rich range of colours in the beautiful figuring. The wooden surfaces have been sensitively refinished and present with minor surface scratches, minor edge abrasions and minor scattered surface dirt consistent with age and gentle use. Minor traces of wear concentrated to the edges of the base and top and an isolated very minor remnant of white house paint to one edge. The lower edge of the top and the lower portion of the leg with a few minor scattered restorations to the veneer, only visible upon close inspection and a minor loss to the veneer (1/8 x 1/8 in.) to a corner of the lower edge of the top, only visible upon close inspection. The table has two configurations, one as a square table, the other as a rectangle. Please visit laitexier.com or contact the department for additional photographs of the table extended. To change the configuration the table top is lifted off, then the leaves are extended which are stored underneath, and the square top placed in the center. The square form table top presents with very minor fading consistent with light sun exposure. The coloration of the extension leaves is very consistent with a slightly darker hue. A dynamic table form that displays wonderfully delicate sculptural detailing to the foot.
