Condition
Good condition for an object of this type and age. Marks, nicks, scratches, and abrasions consistent with age and use. The replaced shell eyes (as illustrated in the catalogue) have now been removed. Horn in top of head has been stabilised. Some surface cavities from insect damage, especially under proper right arm. Worm holes throughout. Some metal elements are loose. Cracks emanating from charge cavity at top of head, including an open crack to the proper right side of the head which has been filled with textile (native repair), and a crack from a knot in the wood in forehead. Age crack to proper left leg. Textile belt dry and frayed. Fine glossy varied dark brown patina, rubbed and worn from handling. Fixed to modern metal base.
