Persian manuscript on paper, 530 leaves, plus 4 flyleaves, 19 lines to the page within 4 columns written in nasta’liq script in black ink, headings in blue ink against ground filled with gold and polychrome scrolls, 7 miniatures, f.1b with illuminated headpiece composed of gold and polychrome scrolling leafy flowers and split palmettes,in a gilt-stamped binding with flowering vines, with filigree-work doublures

Provenance

An ownership inscription on f.1a states that Farhad Mirza son of ‘Abbas Mirza, registered the manuscript as having entered his library in 1278 AH/1862 AD.          

Condition

In discrete overall condition, the text panels have been re-margined and consolidating sello-tape is visible throughout the manuscript along with areas where the text panels is detaching from the margins; the margins overall clean with occasional notes, restorations to the paper affecting mainly the edges and the corners, occasional smudges to the ink and various stains; the opening headpiece in good condition, the paintings with some small stains and spotting, flaking and rubbing of the painting, some areas of retouching, as viewed.
