Description
- ivory and wood
of rectangular form, decorated on each side with inlaid ivory and ebony designs forming stars within intersecting circles, corners fitted with openwork mounts, the front with two drawer facades, one which opens, the other with openwork lock plate, hinged opening from above revealing multiple internal compartments, one with lock, hinge to side to maintain open lid
Condition
In good condition, some minor knicks throughout surface as consistent with age, set on four small felt pillows, some of the ivory pieces probably later replacements (as indicated by variations in tone), also minor restorative wood sections, inside revealing some abrasion to metallic hinges and top of lock-plate, two square compartments would have originally had a lid, one compartment locked (unable to open) and front lock also unable to open (missing keys), as viewed.
